OBJECTIVE
Create a simplified Rules engine experience. Today only IT solutions team can use the application as it is too confusing for the business users, who are also the target user.
Role - Lead UX Designer
As a Lead UX designer I take responsibility to improve on the user experience of the product. Understand the scope of the project and come up with a road map to solve the problems. Worked alongside Product Owner, Technical Lead and Stakeholder. Based on the data analysis and educated assumptions created recommendations on the user experience. Worked with visual designer to create high fidelity mockups.
Project Background and Pain Points
Current Rules engine is on Pega backend which Cisco wants to move away from for the following reasons: Although the rules engine is for Business users today only IT solutions team can use it as it is too confusing for the business users. I need to simplify the user experience.
Pega is not cloud-native
Pega has a certain framework and cannot be fully customized for Cisco’s needs
Pega is a 3rd part software and there is a hefty licensing fee

New features help organize and categorize the information.
Preconditions- This creates a hierarchy and helps organize the information for rules and exceptions. The rules are further organized into groups.
